Rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs faces a possible federal indictment as investigators alert his accusers that they could soon testify before a federal grand jury in New York.

A source told CNN that federal authorities had alerted potential witnesses to such a development in the federal sex trafficking investigation against the 54-year-old Harlem-born artist.

A spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) would not tell CNN whether a grand jury had been convened, but confirmed that an investigation into Combs was underway.

In March, his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided as part of a federal sex trafficking investigation.

A source also told the outlet that HSI wanted an “ironclad” case against the Bad Boy Records founder, who has been the subject of several disturbing lawsuits since late last year.

The new reported development comes shortly after CNN released a video earlier this month showing Combs brutally beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a 2016 incident. Combs later apologized for the altercation , noting that he was “disgusted” with himself then and now.

Ventura, 37, filed a lawsuit against Combs in November, alleging rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse. One of the incidents detailed in the suit closely resembled the events in the 2016 footage.

Although Ventura and Combs settled within a day, several other accusers filed their own lawsuits in the following weeks and months, accusing Combs of sexual harassment, sexual assault and drug abuse.
