  • Cassie's lawsuit filed in November claimed that Sean “Diddy” Combs paid $50,000 to obtain hotel surveillance footage of a physical altercation that occurred between the two in 2016.

  • CNN obtained footage of the incident at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

  • The newly surfaced video comes after Cassie settled her lawsuit against Combs a day after it was filed last November.

Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly paid the InterContinental Hotel $50,000 for the new hallway footage that shows him physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie, during an altercation in March 2016, according to the explosive civil lawsuit filed by the latter at the end of last year.

The graphic surveillance video, released by CNN on May 17, shows Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, now 37, walking out of a hotel room and toward an elevator while Combs, now 54 year old, chases her down the hallway with a towel. When Combs reaches her, he grabs her by the neck and pushes her to the ground. As Ventura stands still, Combs turns to kick him before grabbing her purse and suitcase.

As Ventura continues to lie on the ground, Combs kicks her hard again and grabs her by her hoodie to drag her briefly towards the hallway before letting go of her and walking away with her things . Moments later, Combs returns to grab Ventura near the elevator before sitting down in a nearby chair, picking up an object from a table and throwing it at him forcefully. Combs then walks away but turns to Ventura again when an elevator door opens and someone appears to come out.

A representative for Diddy did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on the video.

Throughout his trial, Ventura detailed numerous other accusations against Combs, alleging that he also raped and sex trafficked her during their relationship from 2007 to 2018, calling it a “vicious cycle of abuse” and “violence”.

A day after the lawsuit was filed, Combs and Ventura reached a settlement, announcing that they had resolved the claims made to their “mutual satisfaction.”
