Screenshots and video of alleged Jet Set Radio remake appear online

Screenshots and gameplay footage of an alleged Jet Set Radio remake have appeared online.

While Sega previously confirmed that it was working on a reboot of the cult favorite series, it was claimed that the new “leaked” assets were from a separate remake of the original Dreamcast title.

User X MSKAZZY69 posted four screenshots, claiming their source was Midori, the Sega leaker who recently deleted his social media account.

This was followed by gameplay footage from the alleged game, showing an updated version of Jet Set Radio with more realistic character designs.

It is not yet clear how authentic the screenshots and images are.

Sega previously confirmed in December that it was working on a Jet Set Radio title that would reboot the series, rather than remaking the original.

“Experience the movement of 'rebellion' by feeling free in a stifling society,” reads Sega's description for the reboot. “Make friends, grow your fans, and create a movement.”

He also provided details on reboots of other classic Sega series, including Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, Golden Ax and Shinobi.

Using the slogan “Power the Next Level”, Sega released a first trailer showing all five games in action late last year.

Footage of what appeared to be a reboot or remaster of Jet Set Radio was leaked in April.
