Scottish teenager in critical condition after disturbance in Glasgow park as 13-year-old boy arrested

A teenager is fighting for his life following an incident in a Glasgow park.

Emergency services rushed to Greenfield Park, on Erskbank Street, near Shettleston, in the east of the city, following reports of a “disturbance” at around 8.15pm on Friday.




Paramedics responded and a 16-year-old boy was found seriously injured. He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, where doctors described his condition as critical.

A 13-year-old boy was also taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been arrested in connection with this incident.

Officers say their investigations into the incident are continuing and a significant police presence will remain in the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 8.15pm on Friday 31 May 2024, we were called to reports of a disturbance in the Cranhill area of ​​Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended Greenfield Park, Erskbank Street, and found a 16-year-old man seriously injured. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where medical staff described his condition as critical .
