Sarah Jessica Parker's Teenage Daughter Has a Different Name

Sarah Jessica Parker is notoriously private when it comes to her family life and rarely shares photos of them on social media.

However, over the years she has referred to it several times and revealed that one of her twin daughters has a different name.

Marion Loretta Broderick, 15, is actually known as Loretta to her family. In a recent birthday message honoring Loretta and her twin sister Tabitha, Sarah wrote, “2 divine 15 year olds. We are so lucky and love you so much. Happy birthday to our dearest Loretta and Tabitha. Celebrating you both today was a pure joy. X, Mom.”

In addition to her twins, Sarah is also mother to a 21-year-old son, James Wilkie, who is a student at Brown University.

The family are incredibly close and earlier this year they had the pleasure of spending time in London for Sarah and husband Matthew Broderick's sold-out West End show. Plaza Suite.

Actress Carrie Bradshaw spoke to HELLO! in October about parenting and the invaluable lesson she taught her children.

She said: “I think staying in things that bother me for too long hasn't helped me.

“I tell my kids this too. If you’ve had an unpleasant or disappointing experience, you should feel upset. Feel it, but how do you resurface it? Where do you find your resilience? There’s a danger in sitting on a blue saddle. For me, I have to say, ‘OK, that happened, now what?’”

And now that her children are older, they need her even more. She says, “First, as a parent. I’m a mother of three, and I’ve discovered that they don’t need you less as they get older, but they need you more. It’s a dominant and joyous part of my life, but it’s also the most important thing.”

Sarah added: “I’m a wife – I’ve been with my husband for 30 years – and I’m a friend and a colleague. And a serious professional. I love what I do and the people I work with and for.”

Proud dad Matthew opened up about his twins' transition to high school during an episode of Live with Kelly and Mark in June. The actor said they were “very excited” about the “big step in their lives” and had decided to attend the same school, after previously considering going to different schools.

Sarah raises all of her children to be independent and when it comes to her daughters, she really enjoys seeing them find their voice.

In May, she attended a reading in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of Alina Grabowski's new book, “Women and Children First,” the latest book to be published by her imprint, SJP Lit.

As she discussed “Women and Children First,” which is told from the perspectives of ten different women, she opened up about her own observations about how girls are portrayed and react, based on her experience raising her twin teenage daughters.

She said: “I have two daughters, not that they're fully mature, but sometimes when they're angry or people disappoint them, they're not as mean as they think they are to the person.”

Sarah and Matthew have been married since 1997

She added: “What's really interesting is that, because I only had one son, I hear about the event from two people, what they saw… It's very touching in a way that surprises me, because there's [this narrative about when you have girls] “You have two daughters, good luck,” but who started this rumor? Why did we encourage it? She went on to say that she hoped to “create girls who are truly complicated, not older than their age but in the truth of growing up.”
