SAPD: Woman shot in leg in west side drive-by shooting

The victim was on a porch when someone walked by and fired several shots, hitting him in the leg.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was shot in the leg during what police say was a drive-by shooting on the city's west side early Wednesday morning.

San Antonio police responded to the 1500 block of Calle Valencia, not far from Castroville Road, around 2:37 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, a woman in her 20s, with a single gunshot wound to her leg. She was taken to University Hospital.

Witnesses told police the victim, along with family members and friends, were on the porch when a vehicle drove by and someone inside fired multiple shots. Police found five shell casings in the street.

They did not have a good description of the vehicle the suspect was in.

No further details were available.
