SAPD: Man found with multiple stab wounds west of downtown

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was stabbed multiple times near an intersection west of downtown late Saturday night, police said.

San Antonio Police were called to Commerce Street at North Frio Street around 10:15 p.m. for reports of a stabbing in progress.

When police arrived, they found the 30-year-old victim on the ground with several stab wounds.

According to witnesses at the scene, the man was sleeping next to his fiancée when the suspect approached him and stabbed him, then fled down Commerce Street.

Police were unable to find the suspect and said it was unclear what caused the suspect to stab the victim. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.

No further information was available.
