San Jose woman allegedly killed by her son identified

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) — A San Jose woman allegedly killed by her 34-year-old son has been identified in court documents as Mai Dung Thi Nguyen.

Santa Clara County prosecutors on Tuesday charged the victim's son, Roger Le, with one count of first-degree murder. According to a criminal complaint, investigators believe Nguyen was killed on May 23 and the murder weapon was a rope.

Le and his mother lived together in an apartment at 277 Shadow Dance Drive in San Jose, according to court records. On the morning of May 23, San Jose Police officers were called to check the apartment due to a “suspicious circumstance,” police said.

Officers found Le at home with his deceased mother.
