SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The suspect in a 2020 fatal shooting of a man in Talmadge was arrested at the San Ysidro Port of Entry Tuesday, San Diego police said.

The incident happened on Sept. 18, 2020, shortly before 3:30 a.m., in the 4400 block of Euclid Avenue. Authorities were alerted to the shooting after receiving a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon, SDPD Lt. Steve Shebloski said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found an adult male with upper body trauma. First responders treated him until he could be transported to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead by medical personnel less than an hour later, at 4:15 p.m., Shebloski said.

The victim was later identified as Mychael Farve, a 33-year-old San Diego resident, Shebloski said.

In the months following the shooting, SDPD homicide investigators conducted an investigation that led to them identifying Farve's partner, 25-year-old Sheila Camarena, as a suspect. According to Shebloski, a confrontation took place between the two before he was fatally shot.

A warrant for Camarena's arrest was issued in February 2021 on suspicion of murder. A Crime Stoppers flyer was distributed asking for the public's help in locating her, Shebloski added.

However, on Tuesday around 6:18 p.m., Camarena was located by SDPD detectives at the U.S. Port of Entry located at 720 West San Ysidro Boulevard, according to SDPD. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant for one count of murder and booked into the Las Colinas Jail.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
