Salvini: “Send new weapons to Ukraine? Let's be careful”

No to the use of Italian weapons to strike Russia and to the criticism of European sovereignty. In view of the European elections, Matteo Salvini he outlined the orientations of the League's foreign policy with a clear message during an interview with “Dans une trois-heure” on Rai3: “Not a single bullet or bomb given by Italy can strike outside the borders of Ukraine. I consider these Western leaders who incite war to be dangerous. » Salvini therefore stressed the need for a precise assessment before any new military engagement: “If these desires for war, or these small bombers like Macron, were to continue, we will have to be very careful, like Italy, to send more arms to Ukraine”

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated his opposition to the idea of European sovereignty which could compromise the autonomy of member states. “Today is Republic Day, it is not European Sovereignty Day,” said the League leader, emphasizing his support for national sovereignty as fundamental.
