Ryan Garcia ARRESTED in Los Angeles in latest worrying incident for troubled boxer

Ryan Garcia was reportedly arrested in Los Angeles for criminal vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills.

According to TMZ, the boxer was arrested and taken into custody Saturday afternoon after allegedly damaging the hotel, including the room he was staying in and the hallway.

TMZ says Garcia was “apparently under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs” but adds that he cooperated with authorities during his arrest. The publication features a video of his arrest, where he is shirtless and wearing a helmet.

The 25-year-old beat Devin Haney earlier this year, but his erratic conduct in preparation led many to question whether he was mentally stable enough to fight. He failed a doping test after his surprise victory.

TMZ reported earlier this week that Garcia was placed on a welfare check by police at the same hotel after a call from a concerned family member. Officers apparently determined he was fine and that was the end of the matter.

But his arrest Saturday in California is the latest worrying episode for Garcia in recent tumultuous months.

In December 2023, he divorced his wife Andrea Celina immediately after the birth of their second child.

Then, ahead of his highly anticipated showdown with Haney in April, he sparked widespread fears about his mental health with a series of disturbing and bizarre online tirades, including one in which he claimed his throat was slit.

Garcia also claimed he was raped at a young age by a family member, while also claiming he was tied up in the woods by “the elites” and forced to watch children being raped.

Amid concerns about his state of mind, he weighed nearly four pounds overweight for his grudge match against WBC welterweight champion Haney, meaning he did not win that title despite his victory that evening.

And after his points triumph in Brooklyn, it later emerged that Garcia had tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine the day before and the day of the fight, before his B sample tests provided the same result.

However, his team claims the B sample results prove their man is innocent, insisting he is simply the victim of supplement contamination.

Haney called for the result to be reversed to a victory by disqualification, while his father said Garcia should be banned from boxing for life.

On Wednesday, Garcia took to social media to reveal that his mother, Lisa, is currently battling breast cancer.

“My mom gave me the green light to post,” he wrote. “Please pray for my mother.

“Cancer STUPID, I don't care, she'll win – Breast cancer is stupid, JESUS IS ABOVE EVERYTHING”.
