Ryan Garcia arrested for alleged vandalism: report

Ryan Garcia was arrested for criminal vandalism, according to TMZ Sports. The outlet reports that the alleged incident happened at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills on Saturday afternoon. Authorities say the fighter damaged property inside the hotel, primarily in his room and in the hallway outside. It's unclear how much damage he would have caused, because in California, anything over $400 can be a felony.

In addition to reporting the arrest, TMZ Sports also obtained footage of police escorting Garcia into custody. In the clip, he covers his head with a helmet while walking towards a police car. However, he appears shirtless, which makes him identifiable thanks to his tattoos on his back. As he walked away peacefully, witnesses said TMZ he appeared under the influence.

The arrest comes after police conducted a health check on Garcia earlier this week at the same hotel. He was reportedly fine at the time and officers left him alone, even though the hotel reportedly banned him from drinking alcohol. Garcia defeated Devin Haney in what many considered a major upset earlier this year. “I don’t care what people say about me,” Garcia said after the fight. “…I drank every night. I went out the first Monday and Tuesday (of fight week) and I drank, drank, drank. What happened? I won. I'm not necessarily proud of it, but I'm just saying. It was a statement to say that you can't really fuck with me. I can do anything I want. …I drank every day and did what I wanted. I'm not proud of it at all. I just pray for my kids and hope they are okay. I hope I made them proud.

Subsequently, he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug on the list of banned substances. It appears Garcia is still in custody. Be on the lookout for further updates on Ryan Garcia and his recent arrest at HotNewHipHop.
