Runnells man found dead, Des Moines man charged with murder

Authorities have charged a suspect with murder and identified a man who was found dead in Runnells after a reported shooting. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call came in around 1 a.m. Friday regarding a shooting in the 4500 block of 116th Street in Runnells. Deputies responded to the scene and found Richard David Selby, 50 years, of Runnells, deceased. About two and a half hours after the initial 911 call, officers located the suspected shooter, Jacob Harbold, 35, during a traffic stop in Des Moines. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call came in around 1 a.m. Friday regarding a shooting in the 4500 block of 116th Street in Runnells.

Harbold was booked into the Polk County Jail Friday morning on a charge of first-degree murder.
