Rudy Giuliani's creditors are going after his alleged girlfriend's daughter

Rudy Giuliani's creditors must subpoena the daughter of Giuliani's alleged girlfriend.

Vanessa Ryan, also known as Vanessa Fenderson, is expected to turn over all documents showing an alleged business relationship with Giuliani, according to a draft subpoena submitted to the court Tuesday.

Vanessa Ryan is the daughter of Dr. Marie Ryan, who co-hosts a podcast with Giuliani. In two previous court documents filed in June, the creditors' committee said Dr. Ryan was Giuliani's “alleged girlfriend.” This relationship was denied by Giuliani's security chief.

New York law allows “the issuance of a subpoena without prior judicial approval, except in certain limited circumstances,” according to the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

Giuliani's creditors' committee has issued at least 28 subpoenas to various people and companies, his lawyers said in court.

Giuliani, the former New York mayor, declared bankruptcy after a Georgia jury awarded $148 million to two Georgia election officials who filed a defamation suit against him.

While working as an election lawyer for Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential election, Giuliani falsely alleged that his mother and daughter Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss committed voter fraud during the counting of ballots in the county from Fulton, Georgia.

Vanessa Ryan has become a growing target of the creditors' committee, which is seeking to learn as much as possible about Giuliani's finances.

He accused Giuliani of not declaring his assets to them.

Michael Ragusa, Giuliani's security chief, said News week that Ryan is not Giuliani's girlfriend and that the two are just business partners.

“Dr. Maria Ryan is Mayor Giuliani's business partner and nothing more. All reports of her being his girlfriend are false rumors made up by the Mayor's enemies to damage his reputation and anyone associated with him” , did he declare.

The creditors' committee also said in a recent court document that it wanted full disclosure of the financial relationship between Vanessa Ryan and Giuliani.

In this latest June 28 filing, the creditors informed the court that they “will cause the attached subpoena to be served by process on Vanessa Ryan, aka Vanessa Fenderson.”

They include a list of items they are seeking from Vanessa Ryan, including all negotiable instruments; cryptocurrency wallets and all “documents and communications regarding any fundraising efforts conducted by, on behalf of, or for the benefit of the Debtor or any of the Giuliani Defense Funds.”

Creditors also seek “all records and communications regarding total income, annual income, and monthly income received by any of the debtor's related entities, including but not limited to income received from Common Sense, Finding the Truth, The Rudy Giuliani Show, America's Mayor Live, appearances of the Debtor in any media and the provision or facilitation of security, legal or advisory services.

In a June 14 filing, Giuliani's lawyers say at least 28 people and companies have been subpoenaed by the creditors' committee as they seek to uncover Giuliani's assets.

The lawyers say a “growing group of people, both inside and outside the debtor's orbit,” are now being subpoenaed.
