Murfreesboro, Tenn. – A two-year-old murder case is expected to go to court this year, with the next status hearing expected to take place in two months and a plea hearing expected to be scheduled in the near future.

In April 2022, Murfreesboro police investigated a fatal stabbing at a local apartment. When they arrived, they found the victim, Ryan Wolcott, 27…

During the investigation, police learned that Wolcott had two roommates, both of whom were interviewed by detectives. However, the information discovered by the police allowed the arrest of only one of these two roommates. Julie Cox, the lead detective on the case, arrested her roommate Allister Jennings…

A nearby neighbor said he saw several police cars arrive and even noticed blood on the floor of the apartment they entered. There was a heavy police presence on the day of the murder, as others in the area recalled.

Allister Keran Jennings, 30, is scheduled for a status hearing soon in the Rutherford County Circuit Courts, where he will appear before Judge James Turner on August 15, 2024. Currently, no plea hearing is scheduled.

Jennings has remained in custody at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center since his arrest on April 7, 2022. His bond was initially set at $750,000.

Authorities have not revealed the motivating factor for the crime.

Mr Wolcott, who was killed on April 6, 2022, left behind his parents, a brother, a son and a daughter.
