(ABC 6 News) – A man has been charged with 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon following a knife fight.

According to Rochester police, officers responded to 2135 Highway 14 E at 11 p.m. Thursday.

A 61-year-old man with facial cuts reportedly told police that Stewart Kruger, 43, used a pocketknife on him while the two men physically fought.

According to court documents filed Friday, May 24, police made contact with the alleged victim, who was bleeding from the face due to “multiple lacerations to the head.”

Court documents allege the man had other small cuts on his back.

According to court documents, the alleged victim told police that Kruger took offense to a text exchange, approached the victim in his car and hit him in the face with something metallic several times. times before you can get out of the car.

The alleged victim told police she saw Kruger have a knife in his hand, tackled him and punched him in an attempt to “gain control of him.”

“The victim continued to be struck from the back while on the ground,” court documents state.

Court documents allege a woman came, retrieved Kruger's knife and kept it safe in her own apartment until police arrived.

Kruger told police the alleged victim grabbed him through his car window, pulled out his knife before the man attacked and hit him, but he did not remember what he did. that had happened.

He was taken into custody on May 23 and released on $0 bail with conditions or $25,000 bail without conditions the next day.

Kruger's next court appearance is scheduled for June 18.
