Roanoke police report shooting on Williamson Road

Several were injured in what Roanoke police believe was a shooting on Williamson Road early Sunday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., police were notified of a person with a gunshot wound in the 3000 block of Williamson Road, according to a police department news release.

Responding officers did not locate any victims at the scene, but located property damage and evidence consistent with a shooting, according to the release.

A short time later, officers were notified that two adult males with gunshot wounds were being transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital via personal vehicles. Responding officers learned that one of the men had what appeared to be non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, and the other had what appeared to be minor injuries that were not consistent with an injury. by gunshot, according to the press release.

Officers determined both men were injured in the shooting on Williamson Road, according to the release.

Details about what led to this shooting are limited. No suspects have been located at the scene and no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

These are at least the ninth and tenth non-fatal shootings this year in Roanoke.
