Road safety mission leads to 5 arrests, 14 vehicles towed and 99 traffic tickets

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic safety mission focused on a planned automobile rally with a history of participants engaging in dangerous and illegal behavior. These events have already led to numerous traffic disruptions and reckless driving behavior, including attempts to take over the streets. Such activities create a risk to public safety, disrupt traffic and delay first responders in responding to emergencies.

Beginning around 4 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit and several partner agencies used saturation patrols in the Clackamas neighborhood at SE 82nd Avenue and SE Monterey Avenue to deter criminal behavior and enforcing traffic violations.

The road safety mission resulted in the arrest of five people for dangerous driving, hit and run causing property damage and outstanding arrest warrants. 121 traffic stops were carried out, 99 traffic tickets were issued, 14 vehicles were towed and 47 warnings were given.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the following agencies for partnering with us on this traffic safety mission:

  • Lake Oswego Police Department
  • Oregon City Police Department
  • Oregon State Police
  • Tualatin Police Department
  • West Linn Police Department
