Rick Ross Speaks Out After Alleged Fight Between Kendrick and Drake Breaks Out at Concert

Rick Ross said he is “looking forward to getting back” to Vancouver after footage emerged of him allegedly involved in a fight.

The incident erupted after Ross, 48, performed at the Ignite festival in Canada, the home country of “Hotline Bling” rapper Drake, who is embroiled in a long-running feud with “DNA” artist Kendrick Lamar.

The Stay Schemin musician ended his set by playing Lamar's “Not Like Us,” the final part of his response to Drake's attacks. The song was widely considered the winner of the battle between the two, and appeared to cause controversy during Ross' performance.

Footage of the incident shared on social media appears to show a man who resembles Ross involved in a fight with a male festival attendee.

The man, who is widely believed to be a Drake fan, is seen throwing a punch at him, sparking a fight between attendees. It was reported that he and his group took offense to the playing of “Not Like Us.”

Lamar's song is heard in the background of the video, and a man is shown lying unresponsive on the ground after the attack.

Ross, however, was unfazed as he shared a light-hearted message on his social media, hinting that he had enjoyed his time despite the incident.

“Vancouver was fun, until next time,” he wrote in the post.

The rapper said TMZ that no one on his team “suffered any serious injuries” as a result of the incident, adding: “Vancouver is a beautiful city, and (I'm) looking forward to getting back there.”

In an email addressed to USA TODAY On Monday (July 1), a rep for Ross said the rapper and his team were “all doing well” following the fight.

The Independent has reached out to a representative for Ross for comment.

Drake appeared to like footage of the attack on social media, while 50 Cent responded by mocking the rapper for taking a hit.

Years of feud between Drake and Lamar came to a head in May when the two rappers released a series of diss tracks attacking each other, doling out vicious insults and speculative allegations in each verse.

Drake accused Lamar of hypocrisy regarding his pro-black activism, as well as domestic violence in his song “Family Matters.”

Meanwhile, Lamar, in his song “Meet The Grahams,” accuses Drake of hiding a secret girlfriend and having a series of addictions to gambling, alcohol, drugs and sex.
