The reward for information leading to the arrest of a Marshalltown man wanted for first-degree murder in connection with a June 1 shooting outside the Center Street Station bar has been increased to $5,000, according to a press release from the Marshalltown Police Department.

After first responders were called to the aforementioned scene around 1:20 a.m. on June 1, officers found an adult male, Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves, 41, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical treatment was administered at the scene, but Nieves later died after being transferred to a medical facility.

MPD has identified Victor Antonio Delgadillo, 18, of Marshalltown, as a suspect in the shooting, and he is currently at large with active arrest warrants for first-degree murder and first-degree harassment.

Marshall County Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to Delgadillo's arrest. Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper noted that Marshall County Crime Stoppers has been an important community partner since 2015 and that collaboration between the organization and local law enforcement has successfully resolved ” countless crimes.”

“Marshall County Crime Stoppers is a critically important partner in public safety. We appreciate their generous support in this and many other cases over the past nine years. This murder investigation is our number one priority. We will not rest until Mr. Delgadillo is safely arrested,” Tupper said.

The chief added that MPD continues to receive useful information from the public regarding the investigation, and he said information has been received indicating that Delgadillo is “receiving assistance” from people who allowed him to escape the law enforcement.

“We will arrest and prosecute anyone who knowingly aids and abets Mr. Delgadillo. We urge Mr. Delgadillo to follow the advice of his legal advisor and turn himself in. The only way to resolve this issue is through the legal process,” Tupper said.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, the chief said he could not provide specific details about how Delgadillo was aided and abetted in his efforts to avoid arrest.
