Return to the Saint François shooting

TULSA, Okla. — June 1 marked the second anniversary of the Saint Francis shooting that killed four people at the Saint Francis Natalie Building.

On this day in 2022, several 911 calls from patients and doctors alerted law enforcement to the active situation.

Saint Francis Health Systems CEO Dr. Cliff Robertson wishes this day never came.

“We would give anything to come back to May 31st and have June 1stst never happened. But we can't. So how can we move forward together in the best possible way?”
Robertson.

Without hesitation, Tulsa police officers and Saint Francis security rushed to the second floor where shots rang out.

This was where the Warren Clinic for Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Center was located.

Last year, 2 News spoke with the officers who bravely entered in hopes of confronting the shooter.

“There are times sometimes when you say, 'It's probably nothing.' And there are other times where you think, “This is legit.” For whatever reason, this one seemed legit, I think it was the number of calls and the amount of information we had. received,” said TPD Officer Jon Grafton.

While most wanted to avoid danger, various law enforcement officers rushed toward the active situation.

They have likely saved countless lives. Unfortunately, four of them died from their injuries. These four weigh heavily on the hearts of the Tulsa community.
