Repeat violent offender arrested for vicious stabbing in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – On April 22, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Western District Patrol Officers responded to a reported burglary in the 2900 block of Edmondson Avenue. When they arrived, police found a 36-year-old man apparently suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Investigators determined the victim was involved in an argument with the suspect, who then pulled out a knife and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Detectives identified the suspect as Calvin Moore, 35, a repeat violent offender.

On Thursday, officers arrested Moore and transported him to Central Booking Center, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

  • Man attacked and mutilated in New York's East Village

    NEW YORK, New York—A violent incident occurred Thursday outside 26 Astor Place when a 30-year-old man was attacked by an unidentified assailant. Around 5:20 p.m., the attacker approached the victim and hit him on the back of the neck with a sharp object, who then fled.

    The victim suffered a significant laceration to his neck and shoulder and was later transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. The attacker, described as a dark-skinned man of medium build, approximately 6 feet tall, was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, camouflage pants and black boots.

  • Fatal scooter crash reported in Galloway Township

    GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ—A tragic traffic accident resulted in the death of a young man in Galloway Township early Friday morning. Around 1:30 a.m., police were called to the scene of a collision on West White Horse Pike, near the intersection with West Jimmie Leeds Road.

    Upon arrival, officers discovered a Toyota Rav 4 and an Acura TLX involved in the crash. Stephen B. Johnson III, 19, a resident of Galloway Township, was found dead in the road.

    The investigation revealed that Edith Ramirez-Masedas, also of Galloway, was driving the Toyota westbound when her vehicle struck Johnson, who was riding an electric scooter in the travel lane. Johnson was thrown onto the road and then struck by the Acura, driven by Manuel Rodriguez of Egg Harbor Township.

  • Retail theft turns violent in Midtown Manhattan

    NEW YORK, New York—A robbery at a Midtown Manhattan store turned into an assault Wednesday. Around 3:15 p.m., a 38-year-old employee saw three unknown women illegally removing clothing from a store located at 39 West 34th Street in the 14th district. After the suspects left without paying, the employee attempted to recover the stolen items.

    During the confrontation, the employee was hit in the eye by the thieves, who then fled. They were last seen heading west on 34th Street toward the subway station. Despite the altercation, the victim refused any medical treatment.

  • Public Alert: New York State Police Seeking Two Suspects in Vehicle and Gun Theft Cases

    BURKE, New York—New York State Police are asking for the public's help in locating two juvenile suspects involved in a vehicle theft and possible possession of stolen firearms. The individuals identified are Jaden Labare, 17, and Devan Smith Bell, 16.

    The incident occurred on June 7, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., when State Police pursued a stolen vehicle that was transporting stolen long guns. The chase ended when the vehicle was driven off-road into a field near the intersection of 70th Road and Spencer Road in the town of Burke.

    Currently, a large police presence, including State Police, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), New York State Rangers, and the Tri-County Special Response Team (SRT), has established a perimeter around Coveytown Road. State Police and USBP K9 units are actively searching wooded areas and surrounding areas.

    Authorities warn the suspects may be armed with a long gun and advise the public not to approach them but to report any information regarding their whereabouts by contacting the New York State Police at 518-563- 3761. The ongoing search is aimed at ensuring the safety of the community and resolving the situation peacefully.

  • Fatal fire at Bensalem trailer park under investigation

    BENSALEM, PA—A tragic fire at Top of the Ridge Trailer Park in Bensalem resulted in the death of one resident and significant damage to two mobile homes. Bensalem Township Police, along with the Bensalem Fire Department and volunteer units from Newport, Nottingham and Penndel, responded to the fire on Friday, June 7, 2024 at approximately 5:00 p.m.

    Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully engulfed mobile home on lot D14 of Gibson Road. The intense flames had already spread to the neighboring unit, lot D12. Despite the rapid intervention, Joseph Stadler, 45, was found dead at his home in lot D14. No other residents were injured, although one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and has since been released.

    Preliminary investigation indicates that the fire started in the living room of house D14, but the exact cause remains under investigation. Both affected houses suffered severe damage and unit D14 was declared a total loss. The American Red Cross is currently on site to assist
