Remove face masks when entering buildings for identification purposes, urge police

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are urging the public to remove their masks when approaching the reception of all premises for identification purposes.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said this would facilitate facial recognition for investigation purposes in cases of crime.

“We are asking people making deliveries or any activity to temporarily remove their face masks for identification purposes.

“Those at the (service) counters can ask individuals to temporarily remove their masks,” he said while commenting on a bomb threat at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in Putrajaya this week last.

He said this while attending the handover ceremony at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Kuala Lumpur between former Kuala Lumpur JSJ chief Datuk Habibi Majinji and new Kuala Lumpur JSJ chief Lumpur, SAC Mohd Razali Mohd Idrus.

Habibi will serve as the new chief of staff of the Eastern Sabah Land Operations Security Command (ESSCOM) replacing Datuk M Chandrasekaran, 56, who died on June 1, while Mohd Razali was previously director Deputy Forensic Medicine (D10) of Bukit. A man.

Regarding the bomb threat, he said police were still investigating and would soon distribute a photo of the suspect.

Asked about the death threat case received by Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, he said the police had a lead but it was doubtful and the investigation was still ongoing. – Bernama
