RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WOLO) – Sheriff Leon Lott says the remains of a man who went missing last year were recently found, RCSD says.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a call Monday, June 17 around 8:45 a.m. in the 7400 block of Springbank Drive after a person was found in the woods.

Investigators confirmed that the remains appeared to be human and began processing the scene.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford and her team responded to the scene and were able to match dental records and identify them as those of Morgan Duncan, deputies say.

Duncan disappeared from her home on November 28, 2023, from the 200 block of Springtree Drive in Columbia.

“At least we can give the remains to the family so they can have a proper burial.” Telling a mother that her child was killed is one of the hardest things I have to do as sheriff, but being able to reunite with their loved ones gives them some peace,” said Sheriff Lott.

Richland County deputies have arrested two people in connection with Duncan's murder. Eric Greene, 41, was arrested on February 1, 2024 and charged with murder.

Julivia Waller, 28, was arrested on February 6, 2024 and charged with murder, fleeing and resisting arrest. The investigation is still ongoing by the Sheriff's Department and Coroner's Office.
