RELEASED BODY CAM VIDEO INVOLVED BY CROOKSTON POLICE

The Crookston Police Department has released body camera video (which is required by law) of the officer-involved shooting that took place on May 16.
Officers approached Andrew Scott Dale, 35, of Crookston, who was naked and carrying a hatchet. He threatened to kill the police if they approached. After keeping their distance, Dale charged the officers. A Crookston police officer deployed his Taser and a sheriff's deputy fired less-lethal rounds before Dale was shot and killed by another Crookston police officer.

The Crookston Police Department has requested the BCA to investigate this incident. Once the investigation is complete, the BCA will present its findings without recommendation of charges to the Polk County Prosecutor's Office for review.
