Reds fan runs onto field, backflips before getting Tasered

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A fan ran onto the field at Great American Ball Park during the Cincinnati Reds' game against the Cleveland Guardians Tuesday night, did a somersault and ran from police before being tased , according to Hamilton County court records and video shared with FOX19 NOW.

A police officer approached the fan, but he did a somersault and fled before a police officer arrested him by shocking him with the Taser.

Cincinnati police arrested William Hendon, 19, of Cleves, on felony charges of criminal trespass and obstructing official business, a misdemeanor, according to court records.

Hendon “knowingly ran onto the Reds home field during the game without authority to do so,” an officer wrote in one of his criminal complaints.

Another court document says Hendon willfully obstructed the lawful duties of a public official and “did so with the intent of delaying his arrest by the police.”

He was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center at 10:51 p.m. Tuesday and held overnight without bail, according to jail records.

Hendon is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday at 9 a.m.
