Read a hilarious article about the sheriff's office fireworks

Soon we'll all hear fireworks in the distance as America celebrates its independence and one sheriff's department has an important, yet hilarious, message for those it serves and protects.

There are a few things about fireworks: you either love them or you hate them, and they can be dangerous if you're not careful.

Knowing this, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reminded people that you should never drink while setting off fireworks, they would hate for you to lose a finger or two and not be able to use your vehicle's signal.

The agency didn't stop there, the social media post went on to encourage St. Tammany Parish residents not to call 911 to report fireworks.

Apparently, in previous years, the 911 system has been flooded with calls from people thinking they heard gunshots when in fact they were fireworks.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office would end by reminding everyone not to blow up anything this July 4th, especially their phone lines.

We love this social media page because it is both entertaining and informative. Check out their latest post as Independence Day approaches.

And yes, please say it this week.
