Ravizza appears in court, potential Connecticut murder charges still pending

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) – Jared Ravizza, suspect in a series of stabbings, appeared in court today on multiple charges and could be charged with murder in Connecticut.

Connecticut State Police announced Tuesday that criminal charges in connection with a body found Saturday are still pending.

Braintree police said they believe the found body, identified as 70-year-old Bruce Feldman, may be linked to suspect Ravizza who was arrested in Sandwich, Massachusetts, after going on a spree stabbings in Braintree and Quincy.

The Martha's Vineyard resident appeared in court today for the Braintree and Plymouth stabbings on charges of assault and intent to murder with a dangerous weapon.

Officers said Ravizza entered an AMC in Braintree Saturday night to stab 4 girls, before walking into a McDonalds drive-thru and stabbing two employees.

In an article posted on their website, officials wrote that officers responding to a disturbance at a residence Saturday afternoon discovered a shovel had been thrown through the glass of the front door .

Individuals who complained about the incident identified the suspect as someone they recognized as someone who was near a nearby residence. It was reported that prior to the incident an audible disturbance was heard at an address on Maritone Lane.

Reports led officers to find Feldman outside the residence with visible injuries, deceased.

According to Connecticut State Police, officers later reported that an individual who was no longer at the residence, later identified as Ravizza, was present earlier in the day.

Personal items belonging to Ravizza were found at the scene and witnesses provided a description consistent with Ravizza's.

Surrounding state agencies as well as Massachusetts law enforcement have been notified of this incident and have received a description of a vehicle associated with this individual.

Ravizza would later be apprehended after a police chase in Sandwich following the alleged crimes in Braintree and Plymouth.

According to Connecticut State Police, the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Ravizza remains in custody in the state of Massachusetts and criminal charges are pending in Connecticut.

According to WCVB, a mental evaluation of Ravizza has been ordered and is expected to be arraigned today in Plymouth District Court for the McDonald incident.
