Rather dry all weekend, heat close to records

While we avoid the heat advisory today, prepare for another day where the temperature will still be in the triple digits in the afternoon. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and take breaks to avoid the heat. Morning temperatures are already in the 80s with highs in the mid 90s. An onshore wind today will keep the coast dry if you plan to go to the beach or on the water. Conditions should be fine and sunny with the only chance of rain today inland. A few showers will develop around 2 p.m. inland, then move east towards the Atlantic coast by tonight. Sunday and Memorial Day will be very similar to today with mostly dry conditions and above average temperatures. Highs will remain in the mid 90s over the next few days with little to no relief from humidity. Pack water and sunscreen for your outdoor plans, as there won't be much cloud cover or rain to keep you cool. A cold front will move into Central Florida by midweek, increasing the chance of rain in Southwest Florida Tuesday and Wednesday. It won't be a washout, but at least isolated storms will return to the forecast for the afternoon. Highs are still stuck in the 90s all week.
