Rapper Julio Foolio dead at 26 after shooting

Rapper Julio Foolioreal name Charles Jones, died at the age of 26.

Lewis Fuscothe musician's Florida-based attorney confirmed Jones' death to News4JAX in Tampa, Sunday June 23.

According to WTSP-TV, Tampa police officials responded to a reported shooting at the Holiday Inn Tampa North around 4:40 a.m. Sunday. Tampa police spokesperson, Jone Lewissaid at a news conference later in the day that two cars were hit, resulting in “four people being hit by gunfire.”

News4JAX also reported that Jones was “celebrating his 26th birthday on Friday and staying at an Airbnb,” according to Fusco.

In a social media post shared by Jones via an Instagram story on Sunday, the rapper wrote: “The police arrested us and kicked us out of Air bnb, it's a crazy job. »

A later story also said: “Best birthday ever…appreciate everyone who showed up, we made it until we can't make it to the show now y'all stop by.”

Fusco said News4JAX that “too many people were in the Airbnb where they were partying and they had to leave”.

He said the rapper “got a room at a Holiday Inn, where he was ambushed in the parking lot.”

Jones was seen in a third Instagram Story, uploaded two hours after the previous two posts. In his last known video, the rapper films himself alongside a group of friends who appear with red cups in their hands.

Tampa police officials told the outlet that three other people were injured in the shooting and were each in “stable” condition while being treated at the hospital.

Fusco released a statement regarding Jones' death, which said: “While these events involving our client, Mr. Charles Jones, have been disclosed by law enforcement, we are unable to provide further comments at this time until additional details are made public. We kindly ask that the privacy of Mr. Jones and his family be respected during this difficult time.

News4JAX reported that Jones was shot twice in Jacksonville in the past three years.

Jones has 1 million followers on Instagram and calls himself an “independent artist.” His most recent music, an album titled Resurrection which contains 14 songs, was released on Apple Music on April 5.

Jones' fans took to his social media account to share their heartbreak, with one user writing: “It's so crazy seeing people's stories they've posted over the last 24 hours and then realizing that you'll never see them again… tear up. »
