When deputies arrived at the address, they encountered Holly Clonts getting into her vehicle, according to the release. Deputies told Clonts they were there for Burks, and Clonts allegedly told them she was waiting for them and that she was aware of the charges and the arrest warrant for Burks.

Clonts allegedly asked her if she could pick up Burks, call him or go into the apartment to check on her baby, but deputies refused her requests. Two deputies then went up the stairs and were outside the apartment when another deputy heard Clonts on the phone alerting Burks that they were there, according to the release.

After Burks' arrest, Clonts told deputies he suffered from agoraphobia, anxiety and bipolar disorder, and “they were working on that diagnosis,” so Burks would be deemed “unfit for custody,” notes the press release.

Clonts, who was born in 1996 and whose Beaufort address is listed in court records, was charged May 16 with hindering the prosecution of a crime.

Burks is being held at the Crawford County Detention Center. His bond was set at $200,000.
