Randolph man accused of stabbing two men, one fatally, in Brockton, captured in Vermont – Fall River Reporter

BROCKTON – The man suspected of a double stabbing in Brockton has been taken into custody in Vermont, announced Plymouth County Prosecutor Timothy Cruz.

On Monday, shortly before 7:45 p.m., the Massachusetts State Police detective unit assigned to the Plymouth County Prosecutor's Office was notified by Brockton police of a double stabbing that occurred at 23 Melrose Avenue.

The two male victims were transported to area hospitals. A man was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. He was identified as 59-year-old William Hewlett. The second victim, a 61-year-old man, was treated and released from South Shore Hospital.

As a result of the active and ongoing investigation, Massachusetts State Police requested and obtained an arrest warrant for Kevin Digregorio, 33, of Randolph.

Vermont State Police and U.S. Marshals located Digregorio Wednesday morning asleep in a motor vehicle along a road in Lunenberg, Vermont, and he was placed under arrest.

Digregorio will be arraigned on murder and other charges in Brockton District Court following the completion of the restitution process in Vermont.

According to Cruz, the investigation is ongoing, but at first glance it does not appear to be a random act of violence.
