Ramona man identified as victim of motorcycle crash – San Diego Union-Tribune

Authorities have identified a motorcyclist who died last week in a road accident in Jacumba.

The crash claimed the life of Bert Gallegos, 54, of Ramona, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Gallegos was driving a 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide northbound on Old Highway 80 in Jacumba around 5:45 p.m. on June 3 when the driver of an oncoming 2014 Toyota Corolla made a left turn directly into his path to try to stop. driveway of the Golden Acorn Casino, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The resulting collision threw Gallegos onto the roadway, seriously injuring him. He died on a helicopter landing pad at the casino as paramedics prepared to airlift him to a hospital, according to the medical examiner.

The driver of the car, a 78-year-old woman from Imperial County, suffered minor injuries in the crash, the CHP reported.
