Raghavendra alleges the state government. wants to divert public attention from corruption allegations by resuming Yediyurappa case

BY Raghavendra, Lok Sabha member from Shivamogga and son of former chief minister BS Yediyurappa, alleged that the ruling Congress party was pursuing cases against his father for political reasons.

Speaking to the media at Shivamogga on Thursday, he said the complaint filed against Yediyurappa was baseless. “The case deserved a B report. The CID found nothing against Yediyurappa after the investigation. The complainant had made similar allegations against 40-50 people, including police officers,” he said.

Mr. Raghavendra alleged that the state government was pursuing this action because Rahul Gandhi was brought to court for his comments and the Congress government was facing allegations of corruption in the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. “To divert public attention from all these issues, the state government has taken up this case against Yediyurappa,” he said.

Responding to a question, he said he was confident that his family would get justice in court. “Even in the past, we have faced such situations and got justice in court. I am confident that this time again we will get justice in court,” he said.
