Rachel Sanchez, Stanford KY Dairy Queen employee, accused of stabbing underage co-worker

STANFORD, Ky. (FOX 56) – A young employee was flown to the hospital after being stabbed at Dairy Queen, police say.

The Stanford Police Department said it happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities said an underage employee was stabbed multiple times by another employee, identified as Rachel Sanchez, 20, of Stanford. The juvenile was taken to an area hospital to be stabilized before being airlifted to another facility with “serious injuries.”

Another employee who intervened and allegedly stopped the stabbing was also injured, but police said she did not need immediate medical attention.

Sanchez was still at the scene, according to Stanford police, and was arrested and charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault.

She is currently incarcerated at the Pulaski County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
