QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you think the shooting of a dog by a Sturgeon police officer was justified?

STURGEON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A total of three minutes and six seconds occur in the video from the moment the officer first approaches the animal and the first shot is fired.

The Town of Sturgeon wrote on its social media that “The Town believes the officer acted within his authority, based on the information available to him at the time, to protect citizens from possible injury caused by what appeared to be an injured, diseased and abandoned vehicle. dog.”

In the video, the officer attempts to capture the dog several times, but is unsuccessful. The dog does not bite the officer in the video or growl at the officer.
