Quakertown rapist sentenced to state prison

A Bucks County judge sentenced a 60-year-old man to 18 1/2 to 47 years in state prison for the rape and repeated sexual assaults of two girls in a Quakertown home.

Matias J. Martinez Morales, formerly of Quakertown, was convicted by a Bucks County jury in late January of one count each of rape by coercion, rape of a child, indecent assault by coercion and terrorist threats, as well as two counts each of unlawful acts. contact with a minor, indecent assault on a person under 13 and corruption of minors.

Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley imposed the state prison sentence on Tuesday, May 28, and also sentenced Martinez Morales to five years of probation. Finley also ordered that Martinez Morales have no contact with the victims.






The Pennsylvania Sex Offender Assessment Board determined that Martinez Morales did not meet the criteria to be declared a sexually violent predator, but was nonetheless required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

This Quakertown Borough Police Department investigation began in November 2022. That month, Quakertown Detective Ryan Naugle received a child welfare report indicating that a 16-year-old girl had been raped by an adult man when she was 4 years old.

During a forensic interview conducted by the Child Advocacy Center, the victim said Matias Martinez Morales raped her multiple times and threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone. A. A second victim was interviewed by the Child Advocacy Center and said she was sexually assaulted multiple times by Martinez Morales when she was 6 years old.
