According to public court documents, Trevon Demon Horne, 23, was arrested by Davenport police after a search warrant was executed at his Davenport residence. During the search of Horne’s residence, officers found approximately one pound of marijuana, a digital scale, loose change and a .45-caliber Glock pistol with an automatic trigger switch that turned the weapon into a submachine gun. Horne admitted to selling marijuana and possessing the Glock as part of his drug trafficking.

After serving his sentence, Horne will be required to serve five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

U.S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal for the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. This case was investigated by the Davenport Police Department.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence and make neighborhoods safer for everyone.

On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a Violent Crime Reduction Strategy that strengthens PSN based on these core principles: fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community organizations that help prevent violence in the first place, establishing targeted and strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
