Pune car accident case: Father and grandfather of teenager accused among five people incarcerated for complicity in suicide case

Maharashtra: Pune police have booked the father and grandfather of a teenager involved in the May 19 car accident in Pune, in another case of abetment to the suicide of a local businessman's son, they said. officials announced Friday.

Local businessman DS Kature had filed a complaint against the father, grandfather and three others accused in the Pune car accident, holding them responsible for the suicide of his son who died in January this year .

According to a police complaint, DS Kature's son Shashikant Katur had committed suicide after being constantly harassed by an accused Vinay Kale from whom Shashikant had taken a loan for a construction company which he did not have reimbursed, then committed suicide.

Following the suicide, the police had registered a case of abetment against Vinay Kale under sections 306 and 506 of the IPC at Chandannagar police station in the city.

According to a senior Pune police official, “During the ongoing investigation into a car accident, Vinay Kale's father recently contacted the police, where the role of the minor's father's grandfather and three other people surfaced in incitement to suicide.

Following this, the Pune police included the father, grandfather and three others of the accused in abetting the suicide FIR at Chandannagar police station.

They also added sections 420 and 34 of the IPC, and further investigation is underway. »

The father of the accused is currently in police custody for tampering with blood samples, while the grandfather is in judicial custody following his arrest for allegedly kidnapping the family driver for forcing him to take responsibility responsibility for the crime in place of his minor grandson.

The Pune car accident resulted in the death of two people after the minor rammed his posh luxury car into the two IT professionals, who were traveling on a bike, killing them instantly on the night of May 19 .

The accused was detained in an observation house by order of the Juvenile Justice Board. He was previously granted bail in the case, but was later sent to an observation house for 14 days until June 5.
