Publix is selling a rare plant for a limited time near these Florida cities

Publix announced Thursday that the grocery chain will sell a rare plant in select locations for a limited time.

The plant – a Thai constellation – will be sold in parts of Florida and Georgia, according to a company release.

“Named for the constellation-like speckled coloring on its heart-shaped leaves, this rare variation of the monstera plant was genetically modified in Thailand and is native to tropical regions of the Americas,” the release said. “This variation can grow up to 60 feet tall with leaves up to 15 inches wide.”

However, because these plants are in limited supply, company officials explained that they will not be a mainstay in Publix stores.

Some of the cities in Florida near which these plants will be sold include:

  • Cap Corail

  • Daytona Beach

  • Florida Panhandle

  • Fort Myers

  • Jacksonville

  • Lakes Region

  • Melbourne

  • Ocala

  • Orlando

  • Tallahassee

  • Tampa

Additionally, Publix said there would also be a few stores outside of these areas that could receive a supply.

No additional information was provided, including exact store addresses or the number of supplies available.
