Providence police investigating after person stabbed in head

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are investigating a stabbing that left one person injured Sunday evening.

Providence Police Department said it happened around 6 p.m. in the area of ​​Elmwood Avenue and Woodman St.

Police say the victim was stabbed in the head above the left ear, but was alert and conscious at the scene.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with unknown injuries.

Police said detectives are actively investigating the incident.
