Property declared a total loss in Bradford County fire | 28/22 News

ULSTER TOWNSHIP, BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Crews responded to a first alarm fire early Saturday morning in Bradford County.

The Bradford County Department of Public Safety said crews responded to a second alarm fire along the 3300 block of Saco Road just before 6 a.m.


Authorities say when crews responded to the scene, they found the owner and his dog had retreated from the home.

First responders discovered an active structure fire with heavy flames concentrated in the rear corner of the home, and the severity was increased to a second alarm.

Pennelec also intervened to cut off the power to the house, according to the authorities.

Bradford County Communications Centre confirmed there were no injuries but the house was a total loss.

According to a message released by the ministry, the Red Cross also helped the owner and his dog.

Authorities said the home was declared a total loss and the fire was under investigation. The scene was evacuated at 9:30 a.m.

Ulster Sheshequin Firefighters Association, North Towanda FD, Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company, Smithfield Township. Flight. Firefighters along with Ulster EMS, Guthrie EMS, Athens Borough Fire Department, Chemung FD and South Waverly FD all assisted on scene with fire control and cleanup.
