Propane leak near Toledo Executive Airport

WALBRIDGE, Ohio — The Lake Township Fire Department responded to a propane leak at the CSX rail yard near Toledo Executive Airport Sunday evening.

Emergency crews originally thought there was a propane leak in a tanker truck, but later determined the leak was coming from a large propane tank in the rail yard.

The propane tank, which is used to heat the railroad tracks, was too close to the railroad tracks and was hit by a train, according to Lake Twp. fire.

At 8:48 a.m., the bottle was closed and the leak was stopped.

Lake Township. the fire indicates no one was injured and there is no danger to the public.

People were asked to stay away from the area near Ayers Road and Drouillard Road while crews dealt with the problem.

Crews used a drone to observe the scene.
