Princess of Wales apologizes for missing Colonel's Review

The Princess of Wales apologized for missing the colonel's review.
The 42-year-old royal – who is undergoing preventative chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer – sent a letter to the Irish Guards, apologizing for her absence from the event.
The letter said: “I wanted to write to let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel's Review and Trooping the Color.
“I appreciate that everyone participating in Trooping the Color this year has been training for months and putting in many hours to ensure their uniforms and drills are impeccable.
“Being your colonel remains an honor and I am truly sorry that I will not be able to take the salute at this year’s colonel’s review. Please pass on my apologies to the entire regiment.
“I hope to be able to represent you again very soon.
“Please send my best wishes and good luck to everyone involved.”
The Colonel's Review took place at Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall, London, on Saturday (08.06.24).
The ceremonial military event is a dress rehearsal for Trooping the Color.
Meanwhile, Irish Guards have provided support to the Princess as she continues her recovery.
In a message on X, the Irish Guards said: “The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter this morning from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales.
“We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well and send her our best wishes. Quis Separabit @KensingtonRoyal @ArmyInLondon (sic)”
In March, the princess announced she was in the early stages of treatment following a cancer diagnosis.
She admitted in a video message that the diagnosis came as a “huge shock” to her.
The princess added: “I'm doing well and getting stronger every day.”
