Preliminary hearing for teen accused of fatally stabbing her newborn pushed back 2 months – KCSR/KBPY

The preliminary hearing for the Gordon teenager, accused of stabbing her newborn to death last November, has been postponed.

Chloe Coplen-Anderson, 17, was scheduled to have her final hearing in Sheridan County District Court before Judge Travis O'Gorman this week, but the hearing was extended until August 13.

. Coplen-Anderson faces several criminal charges, including first-degree murder, criminal use of a deadly weapon and knowing and intentional child abuse resulting in death.

Court records show the teen gave birth at home without her parents knowing. A police officer said the newborn was stabbed multiple times on the left side of the chest and had his throat slit through the trachea. Paramedics were unable to save the child.
