Preble County Sheriff's Office investigates fatal murder-suicide shooting

The Preble County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left two people dead Monday, a murder-suicide. According to the sheriff's office, deputies were initially dispatched to IR 70 at the Indiana state line for a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the line. around 5:15 p.m. Law enforcement responded to the scene but were unable to locate the vehicle. Around 9:15 p.m. Monday, police were called to the scene regarding a vehicle that was seen in a ditch and reportedly broken down. The sheriff's office said it is believed to be the same car that was allegedly driving the wrong way earlier in the day. When officers arrived at the ditch, they found two people dead inside the car with apparent gunshot wounds. An autopsy was performed. Tuesday on the two people by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, and the shooting is being investigated as a murder-suicide. The two people who died were identified as Alysha Rountree, 31, of Oklahoma, and Robert Wilson, 31. III of Twinsburg, Ohio. An investigation into the shooting is underway by the Preble County Sheriff's Office, the Preble County Coroner's Office and the Pryor Creek Police Department in Oklahoma.

The Preble County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left two people dead Monday.

According to the sheriff's office, officers were first dispatched to IR 70 at the Indiana state line to detect a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road around 5:15 p.m. The order intervened on the spot but did not succeed in locating the vehicle.

Around 9:15 p.m. Monday, police were called to the scene regarding a vehicle seen in a ditch and believed to have broken down. The sheriff's office said the car is believed to be the same one that allegedly drove the wrong way earlier in the day.

When officers arrived at the ditch, they found two people dead inside the car with apparent gunshot wounds.

An autopsy was performed on both people Tuesday by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, and the shooting is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

The two deceased people were identified as Alysha Rountree, 31, of Oklahoma, and Robert Wilson III, 31, of Twinsburg, Ohio.

An investigation into the shooting is underway by the Preble County Sheriff's Office, the Preble County Coroner's Office and the Pryor Creek, Oklahoma Police Department.
