Prajwal Revanna's brother Suraj arrested for alleged sexual assault on party member | Bangalore News

Holenarasipura Rural Police on Saturday registered the sexual assault case under IPC sections 377 (unnatural carnal knowledge), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (intentional insult intended to cause breach of peace) and 34 (common intention). The police have named Suraj Revanna and Shivakumar as accused in the case.

According to the FIR, accessed by The Indian Express, the victim visited Suraj Revanna at a farmhouse in Holenarasipura taluk in Hassan district around 6:15 p.m. on June 16.

The complainant alleged that the MLC stripped him naked, sexually assaulted him and threatened to kill his family. The complainant also alleged that Suraj Revanna assured him of employment and political growth. “I informed Shivakumar about the incident and told him that I would fight for justice. Later, Shivakumar offered me Rs 2 crore for not revealing the information. However, fearing being killed, I arrived in Bangalore on Wednesday. I am prepared to provide evidence of these allegations,” he said in his complaint.

Suraj and Prajwal are the sons of JD(S) MP HD Revanna and Bhavani Revanna, herself accused of kidnapping one of Prajwal's alleged sexual assault victims. Their grandfather is former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and their uncle is Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Prajwal Revanna, former JD(S) MLA from Hassan, has been arrested in three sexual assault cases.
