Portland man arrested after shooting, stabbing 3 people

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man faces several charges, including attempted murder, after shooting one person and injuring two with a knife on May 22, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

Wednesday at 8:24 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 10400 block of Southeast Clinton Street. When they arrived, they found a man had been shot by the suspect, Tyler Valenzuela Price, 29, who then punched a neighbor in the hand and “threatened” another neighbor with a knife before fleeing.

Officers found Price, who then fled, stabbing another neighbor in the neck as he fled, police said.

Officers used a Taser to arrest Price, who was arrested and hospitalized; Price “suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the hand” during the incident, PBB said.

Price remained in the hospital under guard until Saturday, when he was booked into the Multnomah County Jail Detention Center and charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of second-degree assault and four counts of unlawful use of a weapon. and two counts of threatening.

The man who was shot was hit in the shoulder and has been released from the hospital, police said.

The neighbor, injured in the hand, refused any medical transport and treated her injury herself. The other neighbor who was stabbed in the neck was taken to hospital, where he was treated and released, PPB added.
