Porsche crash in Pune: 2 doctors arrested for handling blood sample of accused teenager

The accident took place around 2.15 am on Sunday when the 17-year-old, who was drinking with friends, collided with two 24-year-old IT professionals in Kalyani Nagar area. Anish Awadhiya, the driver of the motorcycle, was thrown and hit a parked car, while Ashwini Koshta, the passenger, was thrown 20 feet in the air, leading to their immediate deaths.

The teenager, who was about to turn 18, was released on bail within 15 hours of his arrest.

Pune Police on Monday arrested two doctors from the city's Sassoon General Hospital for tampering with blood samples in the case involving the 17-year-old who hit two people with his Porsche, the police commissioner said from Pune, Amitesh Kumar. The teenager, who was driving his Porsche under the influence of alcohol, crashed his car into a bicycle, killing two people. Anish Awadhiya And Ashwini Koshta – on the spot.

Among those arrested is the head of the hospital's forensic department, officials told PTI. Those arrested were identified as Dr. Ajay Taware and Shrihari Harnor, officials said.

“They have been arrested for alleged manipulation of blood samples and destruction of evidence in the case,” a senior police official said.
