Police: Triple shooting on Bagnall Road in Norfolk leaves one dead

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — One man died and two other men were injured in a triple shooting Thursday afternoon in Norfolk, not far from another shooting a day earlier, police said.

The call came in around 4:45 p.m. Police responded to the 900 block of Bagnall Road and Norfolk Police Chief Mark Talbot said officers patrolling nearby heard about 10 gunshots on East Olney Rd. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and two other men were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds and were seriously injured.

Talbot, during a news conference at the scene, said it was unclear whether Thursday's triple shooting was related to the shooting in that area the day before. Wednesday's shooting happened as a Juneteenth event was taking place a street away.

There were a number of evidence markers in the grass and parts of East Olney Road were cordoned off with yellow police tape.

See the press conference with Talbot below.
